As part of the preparation for the deployment of a new PBX service, the routing of all incoming calls to the university's phone numbers (046 603 7xxx and 8xxx) will be changed. Work will start at 4:00 PM on Monday, 12 December, and is expected to take up to 30 minutes. Provided all goes smoothly, we expect that no effects should be noticeable, but active calls may be dropped. If problems are experienced, the worst case is that it will not be possible to call the university's phone numbers from outside the university's PBX. We will have staff from I&TS Division and our upstream telephony provider on hand to attend and restore services as soon as possible.
Internal calls (from RU extension to another RU extension) and outgoing calls (placed from an RU phone) should not be affected.
