During the Tuesday, September 3rd maintenance window we will carry out work to improve the performance of student e-mailboxes (the IMAP service). The work will start at 5-30pm and will result in students being unable to read email while the work is in progress. This should take approximately one hour; this notice will be updated when the service is restored.

This maintenance work is being undertaken in the ITSC-approved scheduled maintenance window, and should be completed before midnight. More information about maintenance windows and maintenance periods.

The service-affecting part of this work is complete and student email is operational. We expect to improve the responsiveness of student email over the next day or two as the new resources we've added come into service (this should happen transparently without further service interruptions).
