The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Pretoria is currently experiencing a denial of service attack and has been since about 6AM this morning. Because we share a common international link with them, this is impacting on Rhodes' international Internet traffic. Users will experience this as unusually slow responses from sites that are overseas.
TENET, our upstream service provider, is currently working to denounce the affected part of the CSIR's network. Once this happens, things should return to normal.
