The web address for the Rhodes Webmail service will change from https://mail.ru.ac.za/ to https://webmail.ru.ac.za/ over the coming weekend. Staff and students should not be concerned that this particular change represents a phishing attempt, but please continue to check that the webmail site to which you're connected to is identified as belonging to Rhodes University and verified by DigiCert Inc before logging in to ensure that you don't inadvertently provide your username and password to spammers and fraudsters.
Links and bookmarks to the old address will continue to work, as the old address will automatically redirect you to the new address.
The reason for the change of address is that the webmail service will be provided by new servers, while the old servers will continue to handle mail submission, thus different hostnames for the two services are required.
