At about 5:30AM this morning we lost access to the international Internet for reasons as yet unknown. You will likely experience this outage as an ERR_DNS_FAIL or ERR_CONNECT_FAIL error when trying to access websites hosted internationally (including .za sites hosted outside of South Africa). When accessing secure (https://) web sites, your browser may report that the connection has timed out or the site is unreachable.
TENET are aware of the problem.

QUOTE(TENET)
SEACOM is currently down due to a failure on the SMW4 system between Alexandria and Jedda. This will be causing a complete international outage. The cause of the failure has been isolated to a fiber cut 10.5 kilometers outside of Alexandria, and there is currently an estimated time to repair of 2 hours as of the time of writing this email. This means connectivity should be restored at around 11am South African time, providing the repair process is completed on time.
