As of about ten minutes ago we've had a partial Internet outage. The outage is affecting our ability to reach international sites and some parts of South Africa. You will likely experience this outage as an ERR_DNS_FAIL or ERR_CONNECT_FAIL error when trying to access affected sites. When accessing secure (https://) web sites, your browser may report that the connection has timed out or the site is unreachable.
We're told that this is a result of a power & UPS failure that's affecting parts of Telkom's network (which underpins the South African National Research Network). As a result we can reach some parts of the SANReN ring but not others. Telkom are aware of the matter and are working to urgently restore connectivity.
