At 10pm tonight we will be doing an emergency reload of the JNB1-PE router at the Reef Head facility.
This will result in 10 to 15 minute outage on the MPLS network and temporary re-routing of all JINX traffic to our backup transit circuits in Cape Town. MPLS connected sites should assume that there will be a loss of connectivity during this period. SANReN connected sites and Metro Ethernet connected sites will be unaffected by this reboot. All DSL sites will also experience an outage during this time.

Rhodes is an MPLS-connected site, and so you should expect an outage as a result of the above work. During this maintenance you can expect Internet access to be intermittent or unavailable. You will likely experience this outage as an ERR_DNS_FAIL or ERR_CONNECT_FAIL error when trying to access websites. When accessing secure (https://) web sites, your browser may report that the connection has timed out or the site is unreachable.
The Gauteng Liaison Office and SAIAB are DSL-connected sites, and will also be affected by this.
