At about 9:45 this morning, Rhodes lost access to the Internet for reasons as yet unknown. Users will likely experience the outages as an ERR_DNS_FAIL or ERR_CONNECT_FAIL error when trying to access websites hosted off campus.
We have reported the problem to our service providers, and are awaiting feedback.

We've been informed that a technician has been dispatched to repair the fault. The ETA is 12:30.

We've been informed that there is a fibre-optic cable break which is being repaired. It is expected that the fault will be repaired around 4 o'clock.

We've been informed that, while the fibre-optic cable was repaired this afternoon, technicians have discovered a problem with equipment in the Neotel PoP. A replacement part has been dispatched from P.E., and it's expected that it'll arrive around 8 o'clock.
The problem has been escalated to Neotel's service manager.

We're told that the technician en route to the POP has been delayed by bad weather. ETA is now expected to be between 30 and 40 minutes.
