Shortly before 6PM, the University lost all access to the Internet. Users will likely experience this as an ERR_DNS_FAIL or ERR_CONNECT_FAIL error when trying to access websites hosted off campus.
The cause of the outage is currently not known, but is a fault somewhere on our upstream service provider's network.

Since approximately 17:00 we have been experiencing intermittent connectivity to our Neotel peer which is resulting in transient routing anomalies on the GEN3 network. Some sites on the GEN3/SANReN network might be experiencing intermittent connectivity as a direct result of this.
We are currently working with Internet Solutions and Neotel to determine the reason for these networking anomalies and to resolve them as soon as possible. Andrew Alston will be providing further detailed technical feedback from our peer ISPs to this list for the duration of the problem.
