At around 2.30AM this morning we lost access to the Internet. It appears to be the same problem we've been seeing recently -- that a few Eastern Cape institutions lose access from a fault somewhere around Bisho. The fault was reported to Telkom's fault centre shortly before 7.30AM, despite the fact that their monitoring system should have picked the fault up hours ago.
This outage will affect access to anything beyond the University's network. Users will be unable to browse external websites, and incoming and outgoing email will be queued for later delivery.
