Shortly before 6 PM tonight, the University's connection to the Internet failed. As far as we can tell, this is as a result of a failure on Telkom's network. The problem has been reported to Telkom, and we are awaiting a response from them.

Yesterday's outage was apparently caused by a line card failure in Telkom's East London exchange. The card was replaced shortly before 8PM last night.
