For a long time users have been able to make use of either their Novell or their e-mail passwords to access the web via the cache servers. For most people, particularly students, this is completely transparent as the passwords are automatically synchronised. For some staff, however, these passwords are different and have been usable interchangebly. As of 19:15 this evening this is no longer the case.
The cache servers currently only accept user's e-mail password. Novell passwords will not be accepted.
This is a (hopefully) temporary workaround to try and help stabilise the Novell services on campus.
