At just after 2pm this afternoon, a fault emerged in the primary switching module of the University's core switch. The switch automatically fell over to its redundant backup switching module, but unfortunately not all of the routing table entries were successully copied across.
During this this time, users in Hamilton building, on the residence network, and accessing the University's network by remote means will not have had full inter-subnet connectivity.
The problem was resolved at about 3pm, and is currently being monitored.
