TENET have informed us that there will be a disruption of traffic on Rhodes' higher educational circuit (that connects Rhodes to other South African universities) at around 08:00 and again at around 14:00 on Saturday 7th November. The outages should be fairly short lived (in the region of five to ten minutes each).

Only traffic between Rhodes and other South African universities will be affected during these times; all other Internet traffic should be unaffected. This means, for example, that you won't be able to see the University of Natal's web page, but you will be able to see CNN.com.

The purpose of the two outages is to replace faulty power cables on the HEIST core routers in Durban.
