TENET has informed us that Dark Fibre Africa will be conducting maintenance on the fibre optic cable between Durban and Mtunzini during the standard maintenance window on Sunday 18 October. As a result of this maintenance there will be an outage of approximately one hour, some time between midnight and 4AM. This outage will only affect international traffic.
Users will likely experience this outage as an ERR_DNS_FAIL or ERR_CONNECT_FAIL error when trying to access websites hosted outside of South Africa. E-mail that's sent or received during the outage will be queued, and will be delivered once Internet access restored.
