There will be a network interruption on Friday morning, between 9:00 and 10:30. All buildings which are connected via the regional switch centre in Catering HQ will be affected. This includes:
- Catering HQ
- Furniture and Equipment Stores
- Psychology Clinic
- Fine Arts
- Campus Protection
- Kimberley dining hall and all Kimberley Hall reses
- Mandela dining hall and all Mandela Hall reses
- Oriel dining hall, Oriel and Beit houses
- Hobson dining hall, Dingemans, Hobson and Milner houses
- Jan Smuts dining hall, Livingstone, New and Adamson houses
- Gavin Relly Postgrad Village
- Homes along Rhodes Avenue and Gilbert Street
During this time, all affected areas will have no access to the campus network (including e-mail) and the Internet.
This work is necessary to upgrade the capacity of the Catering HQ switching centre to accommodate the growth in the residence network. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
